my husband works full time but i have always been a housewife due to health reasons although i'm not on any benefits - will they force me to work to pay towards the debts? Also our eldest child doesnot pay any board at the moment as she is working part time, can we still name her as a dependant?
we are due to go bankrupt on 10th october.
Thanks so much for your help.

Hi s2d,

Glad you feel you're getting there, slowly but surely.

I'm off to bed now but will be here tomorrow to answer any questions I can!

Night!

hi everyone,

Yep it seems obvious now to mirror the forms.
I'm still filling them in bit by bit,so no doubt I'll be getting back to you all at a later stage when the next question arises :o)

Thanks for all your help, it's been really good. I'm really glad you guys are here.

Oops, sorry Jo! Didn't mean to spread my germs to all my BR buddies!! ;-)

I'm not too bad flu-wise, but if I'm honest have been ill today with bad stomach pains. ot sure what it is, I've had it for a few years and have been in and out of hospital with it. Ian took the day off work today so he could be on standby to take me in if I needed to go! I just think I'm generally under the weather, not helped by going back to work after a year and the stress of BR at the same time!

I'll survive though!

Hope you get better soon. I'll try not to pass my stomach pains to you too! :-O

Hehe we both went BR and didn't do it your, (or John's!) way! It was hard working it all out the way we did it and the examiner did it a different way anyway!! :-)

Hi C. ,

Thanks for the vote of confidence , LOL .
I think it only works that way if both husband and wife are going Br at the same time , which i think in s2d's case is right .
We were advised to do it that way by JOHN , one of the forum experts .

Hi s2d,

I think Andy's way is the best way to do it. We did split it, but it got way too complicated and if I did it again (God forbid!!), I'd do it like Andy did. The OR will split it and sort it out themselves.

Hi scared2death ,

We went Br yesterday . On the expenditure sheet we mirrored them exactly for all outgoings , only thing that was different was the income section . On mine i put my wages in 'my wages section' then in the other income section i put down the total of wifes wages + CB as that is paid in her name . On my wifes i put her wages in the wages section , the CB in benefits section as they are paid to her , then my wages in the other income section . Both totals on both SoA's were the same .
Hope that makes sense

How's it coming on?

hi everyone,

I have a few more questions...

The CTC is in joint names so whos SOA does it go on?
Also all our income is paid into one bank account and then everything gets paid out from there. Do we have to try and split the expenditure between both our SOA's?
I'm getting more and more confusd!

Thanks for helping me out.I really appreciate it.

HiNat,

We get Cb and Child TC so we have to pay for prescriptions, dental etc. I think you have to be in receipt of working tax credits to get everything free of charge.

Hi
Just looked on this website

http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/index/family_parent/health/help_with_health_costs.htm

which states may be able to get free prescriptions if claiming Working tax credit and/or child tax credits

might be worth you chappy's checking out. Sorry don't know how to get the URL thingy to go right so just copy and paste it into your browser.

Cheers

Hmmm really? We've defo been paying for ours! Maybe we've been missing a trick! The examiner didn't pick up on it anyway...
