I have been posting on the IVA forum about my situation and was wondering if anyone on here could help aswel. I have been made redundant in my current position of admin and offered 21 hours tenancy support, this will temporerily be made full time till sept. so for 5 months i will be on a little more then i originaly was. But as of sept i will only be on £8800 per year and fear my Iva will fail then, i have been advised to get another job on the other forum but to be honest the new job is something i have wanted for years and i love the company i work for. Also to add insult to injury my friend has asked me to leave her house due to her partner moving in, i was only £250 to stay there all in, but now i have been offered another friends but they want £350 due to the house practically being mine cause they will be working away and only back at weekends. i am just stressed that everything is going wrong, if i knew this before my IVA i would have gone straight for bankruptcy as this was one of my options due to me having no assets, just a car worth £670 that i need for work. Could i go bankrupt, i have been in my IVA only 2 months

Hi Worryhead,

With your change in circumstances - now is the time to carefully plan. There will be the financial considerations, but also other aspects that are important to you. If the Job is what you have always wanted then maybe that will be the key driver, if so this plus the increased rent probably means that the IVA commitment will not be met - If that is likely to be the case then may be as well to move down bankruptcy route.

Suggest you speak with an expert

All the best Alan

Given your change of circumstances, it is clear that you will struggle to make the IVA payments into the future and therefore the IVA may be in jeopardy. I suggest that you use the settlement you have received to try and offer a full and final settlement, but do seek the advice of your IP.

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com

Hi Worryhead

Really sorry tohear about these stressful times.

It is good to have a conversation with your IP so you can go over the options available. You may even want to get the help of a third party to help you clearly identify the options so your head is clear before you speak to the IP.
