Hi Useful

Dont worry about the Coop account, they are BR friendly and i doubt if they will even think about freezing it, thats why we opened them.

All this thread has done is confirm that some open before BR some after. From the posts i have read that opened their account pre BR the accounts have been fine and i have no doubt that yours will be too.

Good luck for tomorrow and let us know how it all goes.

LOL

Hey

Just thought i would add i opened my 2nd coop account last week too - am just waiting for all details to come through.

I was very luck because they didnt freeze my account, even though i opened it pre BR.

xx

The weights are coming off my shoulders very slowly, but making such a big diference !!

Hi Skippy

I also opened my Coop account post BR and also a couple of weeks ago opened a single account for myself.

I think its better to do it after BR well thats i think less to write on the SOA and def no chance of it being frozen.

I opened my Co-op account after I was BR without any problems, and I opened another one a couple of weeks ago.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Kazy1

Go down to Nationwide and ask for their basic account. Ideally it is best to open a COOP account beofre going BR then they sohuld not close it whilst you are BR.

I agree with Paul - sort out a temporary solution and then reapply to the Co-op. I know a lot of people speak highly of Think Banking, but for the short time I was with them they were over priced rubbish!

Hello Kazy1,

I got accepted for a Co-op account when i was in the actual branch and then a week later i got a letter saying i had been declined, it is usually because you are not on the electoral role.....how long have you been on there - as it takes a while for the report to be updated. I have been on mine since august and my credit report still doesnt recognise that!

Anyway, I wrote to Co-op and demanded a reason why i was declined, they will write back to you, or give you a number to call - it is worth checking it out - they will respond to you. It might be something really simple...

Thanks

Hi Kazy

I got an account with the alliance and leicester it's only a basic cash card and can do DD but not S/O. You have to do it throught ht epost though and it took a few weeks to come through. Abbey is another one that you could try.
If no Think banking is an option but i disagree with what they charge but if it gets you started mght be worth a go.
Good luck
Nat
