Hi we are about to fill our forms in and it asks have you lost any money on gambling. My wife has had the odd game of online bingo the last couple of months about £10 per month but very luckly has won so we have not acctually lost anything.

I never bet but on 3 occasions I have paid £5 into the lottery using the online service.

Do we need to state these. Is it bad news doing this.

Thanks

Mick

Thanks to you both. Was just worried as on our bank statements it does show up. But as I said it was only a couple of occasions.

Thanks again

Mick

What you have stated is not gambling in regard to the question on the forms - this is relating to regular gamblig over a period of time which has led to the present financial circumstances ie a sizeable chunk of your debt being spent on gambling. Even if it was a major contributoryu factor to the debt, provided gambling has now ceased and the individual has sought or is seeking help for the addicition a bankruptcy is not a problem but the individual needs to be made aware that the OR will seek a Bankruptcy Restriction Order on the individual for a period of time which will 'extend' the bankruptcy longer than the initial 12 months.

In your case you have no worries

I didn't mention the lottery on my SOA - like you I don't do it very often so I didn't really class it as gambling.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
