hi,

i saw tom's post about his wife's house in croatia and was pleased to read your reply.

i am in a similar position with an iva or bankruptcy looming (just over £50000). my wife is also croatian and about 10 years ago she bought a house for 30000 euros in croatia with money left to her by her family. she is the sole owner of the property and i have never been included on the deeds. at some point in the future she wants to give it to her son from her first marriage.

since it seems i can not now stop the inevitable, how will my bankruptcy affect my wife's home in croatia?

thanks for your time.

rob

Hi Robert,

As the property is in her sole name and, you do not live in the property or directly contribute to the upkeep or payments then your wife's property would not form part of your Bankruptcy and needn't be mentioned.
