Littlewoods rang again last night and we put them right. They are still adamant that as long as we make min payments we can still shop…cant believe it! Needless to say that we will NOT be shopping with them.

I have another question: We have an American express charge card (gold..reduced from platinum) and have just got the bill. On the header it states that the account is now closed but can we please pay the balance by 26th. They are listed as a creditor so do we have to pay?

Hi T Bird,

Unfortunately, the Insolvency Service are a little overwhelmed at present so it may take a little time to write to them. However, your BR would have been advertised in the London Gazette and the stubbs Gazette which all the financial institutions monitor. The next time anyone calls, give them your BR ref number (some may ask you to fax a copy of the order to them as well). Once advised of your BR, they cannot legally contact you and have to deal directly with the OR.

Regards

Thanks everybody. Egg card rang last night as I have now missed a payment (obviously) for the first time. Explained the situation and they said they needed a reference number then they could pass me onto their finance dept who would talk through my options with me. I thought the OR would have contacted everyone by now (went BR on 6th) or does that happen after my interview? Can’t believe that all these people are still trying little tricks to get their money. Ahhhhh!!!!

Hi t_bird. Maxine is right, pass their details onto your OR who can then tackle them both!
Littlewoods should know better! Tsk!

Let your OR sort them out!

Hi t_bird
I am not an expert but I am quite sure that if American Express is one of your listed creditors and you have not used it after your br, then you cannot pay them anything or you will be in trouble with your OR!
Please wait for an expert to give you their advice, and dont worry too much.
