thanks for previous replies, hadn't quite got the hang of this and entered twice plus I think I tried answering myself which wasn't particularly helpfull. I am intending to go to court again on the 17th so am trying to complete the paperwork again. I am confused about who to put in " list of unsecured creditors" originally they were credit car company's Santander MBNA etc but they have been passed on to debt recovery and collection services who now contact me. Who do I put? and also the form asks for Date Incurred. I understand what to put for a loan but what date do you put for a credit card that you have had for years and always paid off before disaster struck? Again "what was the debt for?? A loan, yes, house improvements but how do you fill that column in for a credit card. sorry this is so long winded but I am desperate not to be rejected again. I feel enough of a failure without not being even able to go bankrupt properley.

Kind regards to all.

Really pleased that the 'BIG' hurdles are over for you Janey.
Now sit back & enjoy telling any callers your BR details.

Well, thats me, telephone interview with OR completed and for any of you reading this who are at this stage don't worry. I have realised that fear of the unknown is the worst thing. My OR was really nice, it was just going over all the things you have already put in your statement of affairs, nothing new and an explanation as to what happens next. I even discovered that buying the odd lottery ticket and years ago once owning half of the back leg of a greyhound in a syndicate does not count as gambling. Be brave and be strong and remember nothing lasts for ever.

Err yes, thanks, I think.

yep the thing to remember janey is that although this is a massive life changing event for you and you sort of expect some big sign that things have changed, for the people dealing with your case, its just another day at the office, which they want to get through with the minimum of fuss as possible.

Great posts Janey, we can feel you smiling in them! LOL.
They will be a HUGE comfort to those embarking upon BR.
Well done you.

POSITIVE. That is exactly how I feel. I thought it would be a giant fanfare, ta daaaaaaaaaa sort of thing but it is just a pleasant relaxing of 3 years of knotted muscles and screwed up brain that is creeping over me hourly. So hard to explain without sounding ridiculous. Am slightly worried about the call tomorrow but don't know why as everything is laid out in black and white and she sounded very nice. If anyone reading this is at the begining then take heart,be brave and go for it. It's just amazing.

Janey Almost There.

You sound as though a weight has been lifted from your shoulders - much more positive.

Hope the OR interview goes ok.

Yep, no tea no biscuits or cuddle but he was very kind and he did chuckle when I told him about the ominous 666; he also said he didn't think there was going to be a problem, devils number or otherwise which was sweet of him. Tell you what I did find out from the clerk I first saw though I don't know if it is just Norwich Court it applies to. The court states that bankruptcy cases can be seen between 9.00 and 11.00. However he leaned forward and said very quietly, "Im not supposed to tell you this but if you arrive after 11.00 and insist that we deal with it today then we have to" Hope that helps someone. The other nice thing that happened today was when I went to my post box and knew that anything nasty in there could not harm me or send me spiraling into despair so I hope the thought of that helps someone also because it's priceless. The OR called me this afternoon and I am speaking to her at 12.00 tomorrow so things are moving pretty swiftly.

Thank you, All night I have been repeating to myself "I'm bankrupt, I am bankrupt, it's nearly over, etc but I think I am still only partly absorbing it, very odd. Oh yes, sorry Richard P, in answer to your question. I arrived at the court at 9.45, handed over £700 and swore, yes, the loss of the money and the bible bit, and by 10.15 I was standing outside clutching my bit of paper. Wicked.

All the best from me Janey.
It seems a massive step doesn't it but what a relief when it's done.
Onward & Upward.
