Hi Antony,

Do you have any other debt?

I suggest you make an appointment at your local CAB so that they can liaise with the power co for you. As Niobe has said, you are liable for the whole debt, but you may be able to come to an arrangement to pay a little each month when you find work.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Do you have any other debts?

As regards the joint debt, you are both jointly and separately liable for the whole debt.

Do you have any assets which would be at risk?
