Hello
I finally feel ready to declare myself bankcrupt, I have completed the form and contacted my local county court who said i could do it on 6th jan if i want to. Im worried that i wont be able to come up with the £500 fee for it though. I am on half pay at work off sick, and once my bills have gone out there is nothing left. Are there any ways of getting this fee waivered?
Thanks x

Hi there

You can get a reduction if your on certain benefits or on a low income, that if you are entitled could reduce the fee by £150.

It may be worth asking the court what there criteria is and see if you apply.

Other than that, have you stopped paying all your creditors as most people stop paying the debts and only pay the essential living costs then use that money to pay the fees.

Best of luck

Jo
