i shall hang on for my appointment with citizen advice on may 5th then and see if they can help me , i will try speaking to santander myself before this but not sure it will get me too far with them.
hope that goes OK, they may help write a letter to Santander to ask them to remove the caution. IT DOES NOT COST £2k to do this.
If you are able to remove the caution then you can control the downvaluing of the car yourself and use some of the excess to pay for all of the court fees.
If the CAB can't / won't help I know a few car dealers that can probably do that for you
what they said was that yes it is a personal loan and that it is not even car finance , but they do have a "marker" on the experian number plate checker which is preventing me from selling the car. I asked them to remove it and they said they wont as my account is 1 month in arrears. etc etc
can the CAB help with this or will i have to go to somewhere else in order to push them to remove it. Garage said that no where will buy it until the "caution marker" has been removed.
I suspect that the CAB may help with a letter but probably nothing more.
You can wait until you see them next week and see what they advise, or you might decide to have a conversation with one of the forum experts and see how they can help further.
Obviously if you can get the car sold then you have choices and are back in charge of the situation.
