So I called the OR and he said it is possible but didn't give me a figure as I haven't had my interview and said I would need to pay all my creditors not just the petitioning one. He also said I would have to pay their fees too. This is still possible as my other debts only amount to a few hundred pounds.
He wanted to know where I would suddenly get the money from and I mentioned from the other company and was looking to do this as I don't want to be acting illegally and if it was found I was then it would have a big impact and paying all my debts would be cheaper in the long run.
He has suggested that I seek legal advice about having my wifes company pay this off for me and also to seek advice on getting the annulment.
After talking to him, I get the impression that he is now suspicious of me which might not be good but at least I was honest.
I am going to see if I can get an appointment with a solicitor to discuss this but imo I don't see what his has got to do with him where the money comes from so long as it isn't hidden money of mine. Ok my wife has a responsibility to look after the company but if she decides to loan say £15k to pay this and it doesn't risk the company then its got nothing to do with anyone else.
I can accept what the OR is saying with regard to the creditors. They will have been included in the bankruptcy.
I knew that he would want to know where the money was coming from. They have to check just in case there is any money laundering going on (not that there is!). Hopefully the solicitor will be able to help.
Let us know.
The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity. – Ulysses S. Grant
