We recently reached the 6 years after bankruptcy and it has been removed from our credit reports. What has happened is we recently applied for marriage allowance and my wife transferred some of her personal allowance to me ..anyway to cut a long story short we rang hmrc to claim a refund for tax for 2015/16 and were told we were due £212 but according to hmrc there is a block on my account and they cant process the refund due to the bankruptcy.
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this and if we would be entitled to the refund as we declared ourselves bankrupt in 2010 and were discharged in 2011 ? HMRC are looking into it but im scared we could open up a can of worms !!
Any advice would be really appreciated Thanks for your help

Hi,
I've put a reply on your husbands thread so hopefully Lisa will pick up on it.
The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity. – Ulysses S. Grant
