Hi everybody,
My bankruptcy hearing is due on the 4th of Feb. I am petrified about being 'done' for fraud. Any adivce would be very, very greatly appreciated because I am just in such a state. here's my story. I understand I have been STUPID I really do.
My husband went bankrupt in 2007. I still had debts in my name that I thoguht I had covered. When I looked they were more than I thoguht, about £6000. I consolidated with a loan from Natwest who lent money based on my income from tax credits and child benefits (which I didn't think they could do). I am unemployed. my debts started to climb again on my credit card, just day to day living. I didn't tell hubby because I always thought it would be okay and that somehow everything would work out okay. All of his wages were paid into my account. We had to get a car, husband thoguth we had enough money in the bank - we didn't I had to get a loan. To do this I lied on the application, stating his income was mine. I then transfered some money onto a 0% interest credit card again saying on the application his income was mine, it was going into my account I thought and I had no intention of defaulting.
He has found out about all of this now and is quite rightly furious. he has stopped all money going into my account and is only giving me money for the children. he went bankrupt to not be in debt and I have managed to screw it all up. He is on a low income.
I understand I am terrible but, as crazy as it sounds I only ever thought things would be okay and that somehow I would be able to pay off the debts.
I need help. Am I going to be prosecuted for fraud or will these debts not be covered by the bankruptcy? Should I go into detail on my S of A as to these exact reasons for bankruptcy?
Please help. I wouldn't care if it was just me but I have 3 children, 2 pre-school. I don't want to go to prison.

firstly welcome to the forum
i can't imagine you going to prison, do not worry
the best advice i could give is give a professional expert a call and see what they think of your situation.
Paul Johns of RevivaUK is quite pragmatic and will tell you how it is , as i'm sure mel from jones giles will as well

Don't worry or know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum.(Baz Lurhman)
RevivaUK and Paul Johns helped me through it all i can't recommend them enough!!
