What sort of appliances? Using credit when you have no intention of paying it back is frowned upon by the OR and could result in a BRU.
If they are necessary things like a cooker or fridge and there is no other way to pay for them then you 'should' be ok but I would try to avoid using credit if at all possible.
I bought a 3 piece suite, toaster, kettle and a fridge freezer from my catalogue just before bankruptcy as we had to move house asap and desparately needed them and had no money otherwise to get them, the OR never said anything about it
If you buy goods on your credit card just prior to bankruptcy, they are unlikey to be repossesed unless they are of high value, say of above £1000 for one item.
I would not recommend buying the goods with you credit card a few days before you declare yourself bankrupt, or you might find yourself on hot water.
In my interview the OR asked if I had purchased anything above a £1000 during the last 12 months which I had not. The OR will look through your credit cards statements and if they find any large amounts spent on credit cards during the last 12 months then they may question this.
If you are desperate to buy these household goods to survive and the value does not amount to a lot then it might be OK, but it's your choice.
Every official recievers view on the bankrupt during the investigations after your interview, may vary from what I have read and nothing is set in stone. One OR view on the bankrupts affairs may differ slightly from another OR.
So it is very difficult to predict the outome of what might happen during bankruptcy and what action if any the OR might take.
