Hi Endisnigh

a nil tax code is allocated to BR people in the financial year that they go BR.

The money that you should have paid as tax is collected by a company called moon beaver, who pay it to the official receiver.

it is likely that this late in the year you may not get a Nil tax code as moonbeaver are struggling under the amount of work.

Further if you are on a lower wage, they may not even chase you, my wife was on an income of 8K, she went Br 6 months ago and they have not made any contact

good luck and regards Richard

The new tax year starts on the 6th April so if you declare BR before then you will not have a Nil Tax Code.
