Hi , I have Power of Attorney for my mother who has Alzheimers/Dementia , have been trying to sort out funding from local council as her funds have run out, not 100% sure they will grant funding .. what to do?
secondly she does owe the nursing home about 30 thousand, can i bankrupt on her behalf and what becomes of me and her accounts?

If you have the power of attorney then you can petition for your mother's BR on her behalf. You won't be affected by her BR but her bank accounts will be frozen and closed.
Does you mother have any assets at all? What about her future care? Are you planning to look after her or will she need future nursing home assistance?
I can't answer your question regarding the local council but you may want to have a quick chat with one, or both, of the companies below regarding this issue:

the council need to see certain stuff ie bank statements,POA,DWP on some things its not a problem but they wont commit themselves to funding her until such things have been seen.
if I go through with the bankruptcy on her behalf any bank details wont be able to be used by them.
what and who do I have to notify if I open a new account for her under my name? how would it affect me in life not POA status?
Im looking at going through with this in the next few weeks?

I agree with gettingoutofdebt on speaking to one of the insolvency experts on this forum. I did mention this to you a while ago.
Is your mum in a council run nursing home?
