I thought that after declaring bankruptcy, all contact with creditors would stop, but today, nearly 7 months into my bankruptcy, i received a credit card statement from one of them. Also a month ago i also received a letter from another creditor about my loan being registered as in default with the credit reference agencies. What should i do? contact the creditors again, or send the statement to the OR? I cant have the stress of them sending things to me again, even though i know they cant do anything.

Hi

You are not alone in this - I had two statements this week from creditors.

Do not let it stress you - send it to the OR with a covering letter

There is nothing they can do now post the BO

hi, they are allowed to send you a statement before you are discharged as it is a requirement that they do, what they are absolutly not allowed to do is demand that you pay it back, so have a quick look if it is a statement or a demand. As for the default notice, again this is just them doing the paperwork, you get a default obviously beacause the debt is in the bankruptcy

its nothing to worry about

Hi Nic

This is a common problem - one of the difficulties of modern technology is that the computer just does what it is programmed to do.

You should forward everything you receive to the OR, and for peace of mind you should write to whoever sent you the letter advising them of the details of the bankruptcy and which OR is dealing with it, but sadly you may still receive correspondence from your old creditors or agencies instructed by them

I recently had a loan statement from Egg and I've been discharged nearly 2 years! It wasn't a demand, only information so I ignored it.
