hi i have contacted the debt counselling serivice in regard to gettind a debt relief order as my situation seems to fit the criteria for one they have said to send my creditors a token patment ie'£1 a month which i have done to two of my creditors virgin just asked me to cut up my card which i had already done havn't heard a thing from alliance and leicester i am going now to send hsbc the same offer.i'm a bit secptical about doing this as i am wondering what the consequence will be i can only afford this ammount.I am wondering how long it will be before they do anything.the worrying about it all isnt helping i would rather do a debt relif order and get it out of the way as the ongoing worry is affecting my health.my total debt is £12250 i only have my state pension to live on i have been able to get some housing and council tax help, but i will never have enough to repay all my debts, thanks.

Make an appointment at your local Citizens Advice Bureau who can apply for a DRO for you. The fee is £90 and provided you have all your paperwork to hand can be a very quick process
Good luck, Melanie
