Hi I put a post on last week about the OR getting in touch with my mother about my wifes BR.
SMy wife said in her interview that one of the reasons for her BR was that my mother said she would help towards our holiday and that she never did which left us with a holiday to pay for and a big debt. The OR said everything was ok with her BR but that he may contact my mother to verify the statement.
Obviously me and my wife do not want her contacted and wish to keep our BR a secret.
What if when the OR contacts us for my mothers contact details that my wife says my mother never really offered to help with the holiday and that really we was hoping that she would of offered to help us.

Would the OR accept that and not contact my mother.

What punishment could my wife expect, as her statement was not much different to what happened.

Could she face BRO or maybe even prison for a lie.

number one rule in bankruptcy is that you should not lie to the OR. Is what she originally said true, if so it would be a bad idea to lie now

Morning Daisy Duck

Can't disagree with Debtinfo - just tell the OR the truth - and the reasons why you don't want your mother contacting - can't really see why the OR needs the verification from your mother

But if your wife chooses to change her explanation she won't go to prison - can't be as definite about the BRO, but it is unlikely.
