hi,
i was discharged from bankruptcy last year.
i am stating to get life back together.
i have an idea for a business i would like to pursue.
is there anywhere i can get a bank account. i need no form of credit whatsoever, just a place to cash cheques in the name of the business.
also is there anyone who would offer a phoneline for broadband?
thank you in advance

www.compareprepaid.co.uk.

If you have an O2 mobile phone (PAYG or contract) they provide a free one to their clients.

It is a misconception that you even need a bank account, as prepaid credit cards provide a perfect replacement.

If you insist on the necessity for a bank account then I would advise going to Barclays or the Co-Op. They have very high acceptance rates for bankruptees. (As long as they are not a creditor prior to your bankruptcy).

Hope this helps.

Raphael Gilbert

As far as I'm aware the Co-op won't allow their basic account to be used for business. There is someone on here who has been accepted for a business account by Barclays, so definitely worth a try.

Good luck.
