if i hve recently bought new sofas with a payment that was made to be from a death claim on a pension from contracting out of serps can that be taken as an asset if i become bankrupt or if under 15000 a dro and how would this death payment be treated

Hi Angie

if you have purchased something immediatly prior to declaring BR, then yes they can ask questions, even demand the selling of the article (what they can do and what they do in practise may be far apart)

if you can proove essential usage rather than ohh it would be nice, they are understanding and can make allowances.
