I am looking to declare bankruptcy for my wife and myself, but cannot afford the fees. Our only income is from state benefits. Can you make any suggestions?

Hey jon, welcome to the forum. An expert will be along shortly, there will be a reduction in fees for you, I'm sorry I don't know the amount but hang on in there and an expert will help. Viki X

Hi Jon - you can qualify for a reduction in the costs when in receipt of certain benefits. It would be worth contacting the court or local CAB to see if this applies to you.

Good luck

Hi Jon and welcome to the forum.

If your only income is from state benefits, you should qualify for a reduction in the court fee of £150.

Regards.

Hi Julian
I am a bit confused by what you say in this post I am in receipt of income support and am going bankrupe hopefully next week.
Do you mean I will get a reduction of £150.00 off the total amount of £495.00 fees, or I will have to pay just the £150.00?
Thanks x

Hi Julian,
Thanks for that.
I wonder if I could also ask for your advice on my situation in the N-Power question?
