Hey shiku, welcome to the forum. You're a good friend to try and help. I can't advise you, sorry, but if you hang on in there, an expert will be along shortly. Has your friend been along to the CAB? Viki X

Hi Shiku -welcome to the forum.
We have all been inthe same situation and through BR so please tell your friend not to be alone.
We will all help as much as we can.
The CAB as Viki says is a good start for a local contact and a friendly face.
She has already taken the first step by acknowledging the debt problem and looking into BR.
People on some benefits pay reduced BR court costs so its worth checking if she qualifies for this with the court or CAB.
Perhaps you could give the experts more detail of the debt so they can offer you more advice.
Try not to worry - speak soon

Hi Shiku and welcome to the forum.

It is likely your friend will qualify for a reduction in the court fee from £495 by £150. however, she could always wait for one of her creditors to take her bankrupt, but I wouldn't advise this as it will only be after several months of bailiffs and court action.

Regards.
