I`ve now missed two IVA payments but kept the money for my BR. This should give me enough to pay for the BR and tax my car. When the IVA fails I want to give up my job ( I hate it and only kept it to pay off my IVA ) and find another one. Hopefully this will pay less ;-)than my current job so if I`m lucky I wont have a 3 year payment order. Will changing my job at the start of my BR reflect badly for me with the OR?

Hi Moodybluetwo

As long as you don't tell the OR you've changed jobs to avoid having to pay a contribution it shouldn't be an issue

People change jobs all the time, for various reasons, so I wouldn't worry too much about it

Bridgewood specialise in helping people deal with their debts and make the most of their financial situation - providing free, no obligation debt advice.

We can also setup a complete range of solutions including debt management plans, IVA and bankruptcy support.

Thanks Bridgewood....thats another thing less to worry about.Do you know how long it takes for IVA to fail? I`ll have to £600 at the end of this month for the BR..that will be three payments missed....and how long does it take to go BR? Is there a waiting list for appointments? So many questions I know!!

Hi there, you will need to speak to your IP as you will need a 'certificate of failure' of your IVA before you will be able to file for bankruptcy. This is normally issued once 3 payments have been missed, but they can waiver this and issue immeadiately if the client has no alternative other than bankruptcy, so give them a ring.
