Hi , I was discharged early from my BR on April 14th , the insolvency regster obviously confirms this but my credit file (i have been using credit expert) still shows me as currently bankrupt. How do you get this updated ?
2 of the creditors are still showing me as owing and in default aswel ??
As some of you may previously have read I had a nightmare when trying to change my car insurance for a new job. Well in the end i lost the job so the current insurance continued (in brothers name and me a named driver)
I have tried gettig quotes for myself (as it due to be renewed next week) but all the companies are still coming back with a one off payment of the full years insurance, is this because my file still shows that im BR , eventhough im not.
Do you's think when it is eventually updated that i will be able to get monthly premiums again ?
As it happens im going to sell the car and wait until i can afford to get something smaller and more economical to run , i dont need to have a car right now anyway.
would be nice to think that i will be able to get monthly preiums again in my own name in the near future though so i can get a small car, and start to rebuild a noo claimm discount ..............
any avice / info gratefully recieved

You can clean up your credit file by following the instructions in the following post - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=677875
I would leave it about 3 months post discharge before checking your credit file as it will take creditors some time to update the files.
Any type of credit is going to be very difficult even after cleaning up your credit file as the BR debts will still be shown as 'partially satisfied', which will mean you will have a very low credit score. There may be some insurance companies that will allow monthly payments but they will probably not be the best premiums and probably charge a high APR for the credit.

thanks , all of them bar 2 show satisfied (inn green) and no amounts owing , just nothing at all against them. Its o2 and 3 mobile who are the only ones showing.
Im not so fussed about getting another car and insurance straight away. Its coming into summer , im living right on the coast , who wants a car then in all fairness (least this is what im telling myself haha)
Im going to keep putting petrol + insurance n tax money etc into one of them "unopenable" money tins then review in a year or so.

Hi
I will call in the week to go through the next steps.
It is not unusual for the process of taking some time but I know some people who sere discharged in April and have already been approved for a modest credit card from Vanquish
