Well that was the year that was. I was discharged at mid-night last night. I had high's and low's but always knew this day would come (after all you can't stop time). I only found this forum a few months back and wish I had found it earlier, everyone has been so supportive, and I thank you for that. I went bankrupt after Illness and redundancy and then when back at work I was working 7 days a week to try and pay debts, that was until my wife made me go to the doctors who told me to stop, or I would be dead in months. I have my life back, I can have fun without spending money and I have time to enjoy myself and I enjoy my work now it is balanced with home life. I was extremely lucky, I kept my house, car and all possessions and do not have an IPA. On refelection I should have gone BR earlier, so when people tell you to take advice........ do it. Good luck to everyone starting on the BR road, the road is winding, but is does end and this forum acts as the service station on your journey. Thank you to everyone who has helped me to this point, it's now time to rebuild my financial standing and move on. Take care Steve |

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

I love reading all these success stories im hoping to go bankrupt next tuesday (the 9th of november)Ive been panicking about the OR ,whether my SOA was ok ,My expenditure etc.I felt like a disapointment to my family and like i was taking the easy way out but after reading other peoples stories i know im no different to alot of people on here and its not an easy way out ,its a relief mechanism when things get too much to cope with. Reading things like this give me a glimmer of hope and i hope things go well for me also. Congratulations to you all,and enjoy every moment of every day of your debt free life xxxxquote: Originally posted by Housing

Hi mugglewuffin, well done on getting through to discharge, now enjoy a debt free, (and harrassing calls, letters etc) life.
Unfortunately illness and redundancy are 2 of the main causes of insolvency, one minute your doing fine the next you're getting calls and letters from individuals who couldn't care less in DCA's, so thankfully you took that courageous step, and now here you are, good luck

Ddonna, don't think you're a disappointment, or that you're taking the easy way out. As you know BR is very stressful, but I'm sure when you've done it you'll feel like a weight has been lifted from your shoulders x
