My partener declared himself bankrupt back in January 2010 and I need to go bankrupt aswell, but have been trying to raise the funds to declare myself. Council Tax are now persuing me for the debt and have written to my employer to start and deduct monthly earnings to them. If I go bankrupt now, will I still have to pay that debt on top of going bankrupt? Please help me.

You can include the Council Tax you owe up until the date you declare BR. After declaring BR you will need to pay Council Tax as normal.
