i went bankrupt on july 7th 2010 and just got a letter to say i need to start paying IPA of £85 a month, how long will this last? and is it instead of paying tax??

An IPA is usually for 36 months. it can go up or down in this time depending on your circumstances though. They will normally put you on a NT (no tax) code from now until the end of the current tax year but this 'extra' money on your wage slip also needs to be paid to the OR.
