hi,i have decicded that bankruptcy seems the best option for me,was left in alot of debt by an ex partner years ago, been paying what i could for years but they want more money. im 32,disabled,single+have 2 children and live in a housing association property.i recieve housing and coun tax benefit,i recieve incapacity benefit(long term) and DLA. my benefits inc child benefit get paid into a post office card account, will they freeze this? or do i need to have it paid into a family members account before i petion for bankruptcy? what happens if ive have things in my house that have been brought from a catalogue that im in debt with? on buy now pay later? do they take the goods away?? as had to order sofa and tv last year? this is all worrying me sick

Unless the post office account is a basic account then it will likely be closed when you declare BR. The best option is to open a Co-op Cashminder account as these are BR friendly. You can open an account via telephone and just tell them that you are planning to declare BR shortly. You can access your money at cash points or pay money in at any post office.
