I have a mate who lives in the channel islands but has recently become homeless. He has debts over there, but legally cannot go bankrupt due to their laws. I wonder if anyone knows if he can travel back to the UK and go bankrupt here?

Hi Dave and welcome to the forum.

He can go BR here, but would need to be a resident for 6 months first. Presumably, he could "live" with you for that time period?
