Hi,should i be contacting my creditors to advise them in filing for bankruptcy??I have only just stopped paying my debts and am hoping to have a court appointment next tuesday.I have set up a new bank account etc ,changed dd's to new bank.Also we have opened 2 cash minder accounts with the co op will they be frozen as ive arranged for my tax credits/wages to be paid in?.

Hi Donna,

No, you don't need to inform your creditors. Some people do, but to be honest, it's a waste of time as the OR will do that in a few weeks.

Just ignore any phone calls and put any letters to one side.

I'm glad you've got everything sorted. Your Cashminder shouldn't be frozen.

Thanks Viki, we feel like its all on track now,weve also sorted the csa calculation and for once i feel like we have a csa advisor who's on our side!!!.Is it ok for us to use the money we would have spent on the debts to pay our court fee's??We are trying to save as much as we can and my husbands mam is giving us the rest.Will the OR want proof of this?

Yes, that's going to be fine to use that money for your fees.

The OR won't want to see proof.
