Hi everyone

Is it correct that early discharge will soon not be allowed/ an option...?
I have heard rumors that Brighton OR office may stop early discharge and all BR will have to go full 12 mnths.
I'm under Brighton OR and in my OR interview I was told that I would be recomnded for early d after 6 mnths but would not get any letter etc.I was told to just check the insolvency register.

(Full term BR is of course totally fine as it's the norm and any ED is a plus and shouldnt be expected.)

Hi Most Worried,

To be honest, early discharge is not really a big deal. 12 months will fly by. Your credit rating doesn't really improve until 6 years after your bankruptcy anyway, so early discharge doesn't really make any difference in my opinion.

I agree with xmas baby, doing the full 12 months is no big deal and it does go quickly.

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

There are plans to end ED, there has just been a consultation that just finished last week and stopping ED has been recomended.

But this is far from certain to happen and would need a change in the law so it may or may not happen in the future but it is not likely to be soon

There were plans to end ED when I was at the OR in Liverpool, the main thrust of the argument being that case clerks spend too much time on administering it, it shouldn't be too much of a hardship anyway if it does go.
