yes you are discarged after 12 months
you would be able to keep the inheritance
remember though that the day you inherit is the day the person dies not when you receive the money |

Hi
Hello Dave
yes, with a BRU you will still (normally) be discharged after 12 months. There are certain circumstances where a decision to discharge is held in abeyance - this is quite rare and normally applies when there is a problem with the investigation or where the BR has not cooperated with the OR
A valid point made by Debt Info on the inheritance of an asset
Are you BR now and have you been told of an inheritance?

FIRE FIRE
if you are certain an IVA will fail why waste the energy looking at it ?
you have asked a question about a BRO, you may have concerns about something that has happened in the past. (edit after post ..It may not be as bad as you think !)
can i suggest speaking or emailing direct one of the experts, they collectivly have a vast range of insolvency experiences / knowledge, once one of them has all the facts they may offer solutions and perhaps put your mind to rest.
good luck Richard |

Hi fire1fire1,
If you are already in the stages of having an IVA proposed, then why not see if it is accepted or not before you consider bankruptcy, which your IP will be able to advise on.
Of course, you can always speak to an expert on here at any time too.
