how does the OR assess wages when someone is married, works part time hours due to family commitments? Basically income is just a drop in the ocean, covers 50% of mortgage and a little more!

You will complete an Income & Expenditure form when you declare BR and also discuss this with the OR during the interview you will have shortly after being declared BR.

You can just put down the amount you contribute to the expenditure i.e. food, mortgage, bills, etc. and then the OR will work out any contribution towards an IPA.
