I wouldn't have a clue. I was turned down for a vanquis card! Some other posters might know. How much did you want?

How long has it been since you were bankrupt? If it's still on your credit record then that might be why you can't get anything at the moment.

You can always start rebuilding by keeping your bank account in order, mobile phone contracts as well.

Buckle your seat belt Dorothy, 'cos Kansas is going bye bye.

Hi Steve

similar situation to most BR.

as kallis states start by looking at your credit file.

some mob tel phone companies list your payments on the credit file which is great as it helps improove rating.

the big question is why do you want the credit ? if it is because you habits have not changes since before BR of course the credit agencies will be nervous.

if you can proove good cause they will give you credit, yes the penalty for going BR is you are considered a risk and will either have higher interest or higher capital outlay as deposit.

vanquis card is a good card to help show improove credit but they have limits to number of applicants.
regards Richard

Hi
Worth checking your credit reports out first to see if the discharge is on there and that they correctly reflect your position.

If you need it I have an ebook that I can email you that goes over how to improve your credit score.

If you are looking at a loan for a car that can be a lot easier to achieve ( secured ) rather than an unsecured loan which is unlikely for a few years after br.

I have clients who we have helped with car finance and a Ltd company bank account within 2 months of discharge.

let me know about the ebook - it is free.

Hello.

Obviously as everyone else has said check credit file etc, depends how much you are looking for, I got a £500 loan from a credit union on the proviso I save £10 a month with them and pay back £10 a month to the loan ( as it happens I paid it back in three months) but I believe they are the most open / flexible and welcoming to discharged bankrupts.

Obviously I do no suggest everyone goes out and gets credit after br but obviously most people have learnt their lesson and just want a fresh start.
