Hi and welcome.
You can stop paying at any time as a DMP is not legally binding.
What is the name of the company?

I've not heard of them and it doesn't sound as though you are getting a good service from them.
There are a lot of reputable DMP companies around, some of which can be found on www.iva.com
Personally speaking, I would be looking at another company to deal with my DMP.

DMP companies are not registered with the FSA neither are IVA companies.
To offer debt advice you need to have a Consumer Credit Licence and jump through a number of hoops to prove legitimacy.
There are a couple of DMP companies on the IVA .co.uk forum and some of the experts on this site also offer DMP's

You can also have a look on www.iva.com as many of the companies reviewed on there offer DMPs as well.

Having looked at the expert list on here, the only company I can see that do that are Vincent Bond, but I do stand to be corrected.
If you visit the link provided there are a lot more companies who do debt management plans and I would certainly recommend contacting one or two of them.

Vincent Bond are a well respected company and they offer DMP's and can facilitate IVA's too.

Will.h, give them a call and ask them to send you an up to date payment statement.
The way a good debt plan should work, is that you get a breakdown of the payment, what each creditor has been paid and also the charges taken from the DMP company. You should get this monthly.
Also you should have had a detailed summary of what the charges would be etc at the beginning, which you usually sign and then send back.
Let us know how you get on.

If you visit www.iva.com there are a lot of companies on there who do DMPs as well as IVAs, they just don't necessarily post on the forum.
