we have over 50k of debt and my son is due to to turn 18 in nov. how will it affect him if we go bankrupt?

welcome to the forum.

It should have no effect on him. The only reason it may is if you have sold anything to him which the OR perceives as being sold under the true market value or transferred a huge amount of cash into his bank account.

your son may be lnked by address but that is rare these days but if it happens then all he has to do is contact experian or equifax (credit file people) and ask for a letter of dissasociation. (what all kids want !)
