Hi
I’m going to have to make IPA payments, the amount is calculated on my salary. My salary is based on a 50 hour week. Ten hours is classed as overtime. My question is, is overtime counted towards the IPA calculation.

Hi Robin.rr

It sounds as if your overtime is regular in which case it is likely to be included. Presumably there is no contractual obligation for you to work the extra ten hours a week. If this is the case, why not consider only working a 40 hour week until you are discharged from bankruptcy.

Hope this helps.

Hi does irregular overtime? My husband works very occasional overtime which is not guarenteed, would this be taken to account when assessing us to see if an IPA would be set? Do we need to inform OR of any overtime through out the year? if we dont have an IPA will they take off us? Thanks

It all depends on how much and when, there is no set formula, the most important thing is that you must mention it to the OR at the interview, they will then tell you what they require from you

We had our OR interview 9 Dec and she said no IPA was applicable then as we were changing hours at work (less) due to child care and would reassess us march when we have new payslips. Overtime is very few and far between may once every 2months or so. Thanks
