| I am decalring myself bankrupt next week, I live with my husband but he has the mortgage solely in his name and I am not on the deeds of the house, will they be able to touch my husband and his assessts. Thank you |

Hi Angela,
welcome to the forum, and further to debtinfo's post, were you ever shown as a joint owner of the property, as the OR can make an historical search of the Landregistry, for any changes made to ownership.

When we first met he already had a mortgage so we just kept it that way, he has always controlled and dealt with the mortgage, so I HAVE HAD NO DEALINGS IN THE MORTGAGE AT ALL. I RANG THE INSOLVENCY HELPLINE AND THEY SAID THE bankruptcy would be just in my name and they couldnt touch my husband or assests. I am scared stiff this will not be the case

how long have you lived together, have you both worked throughout, have you contributed to the living costs of the household? |

we have lived together 8 years, no I haven't worked throughout as I've had children I am back at work part time now though. No I haven't contributed anything to the house
