how can you pay 600pounds if the reason you are declaring bankruptcy is that you have no money to pay debts or even for day to day living |

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, even though it is stupid, those are the rules.

As Jan says, those are the rules. It's £625 now but you may only have to pay £450 if on certain benefits. Speak to the court.

hi angela totaly agree with what you are saying so many people struggle with paying for bankruptcy its an absolute nightmare we have (my husband and i ) tried to save for it for a long long time but something allways managed to crop up that needed paying for first like oil for our fuel tank or the cost of moving the list is endless . i was very lucky my mum paid for me and i have managed to pay her back a little but she doesnt want the full amount back . i chose to be honest and talk to her about it i never hinted on her lending me the money she offered in the end because i was making myself ill with worry over it and seemed to be on another planet each time she saw me . i must say this has been a living nightmare for me and my husband we have both had lots of sleepless nights over it trying to think where we would get the br fees from its just so unfair . i am now bankrupt i had my or telephone call today im so glad its over for me now its just my husbands br to sort out we would have had things on the move a couple of weeks ago but someone decided to back into our car and drive away we have had to pay for that to be repaired so that it can be sold and pay for the br its the only way we can do it . i hope you do get something sorted but rem you are not alone theres lots of us out there just like you struggling to save for br and trying to keep afloat . good luck x x x f b |

Hi Angela, if you're still making payments to your creditors, stop paying them, and put them towards the bankruptcy fees.
