Hi we have just completed and returned a IPOQ, we have a -£200 deficit, what will happen now?

That's a big deficit. Have you put down what you actually spend or what you think you will want to spend?

Alot has changed since we went bankrupt Nov. Both wages less, rent more and utility bills more. We just put on the form all that they allowed us originally like haircuts holiday clothes groceries diesel etc.

I would think the OR may ask for documentation to back up the deficit as it has changed quite a lot….incidentally someone I know who was discharged in January without having an IPA was not asked to complete an IPOQ .

You can ask for an allowance for holidays....here is an extract from the IS own policy. Beware...if you ask for an allowance and it is not given…say £10 per month…that then becomes spare cash to put towards an IPA.

Other general household expenditure such as hairdressing, family holidays and additional allowances for pet expenses: food, insurance etc. should be considered on an individual basis. No amounts should be included for these types of expenditure where it cannot be evidenced that the expenditure is fulfilling a reasonable domestic need given the particular circumstances of the bankrupt and his/her family. Where any household/family expenditure claimed appears above average or excessive, further explanation and evidence should be sought. Where no evidence is provided to the official receiver to justify the excess expenditure, he/she should either disallow the expenditure or, where appropriate, include a reduced amount for that item, referring to the average expenditure guidance for a similar sized family unit in the HES.

I sent all the evidence back with the forms, payslips tax credit notice etc

Had word back from OR, said they are finished investigating our affairs and no IPA will be given. Said we do not need to contact them again unless we win lotto or receive a large inheritence, not interested if wages increase by the odd £20 or bills go up or down they have thousands of cases and they dont advise when discharged.
