can I take a sabbatical and declare bankruptcy? How would this impact on a payment order?

It'd be for a year. I wouldn't get paid but I would find a pub job to pay for everyday needs. The situation that I'm in is that I have a good job with £20k debt but I'm stuck in a shared ownership house which is in negative equity. I can't rent it out and my life has moved on since so the house is sitting there empty, I'm paying for it but can't rent it out as it's not 100% mine. I was thinking about taking a break from my job, which is grinding me into the ground with stress anyway and then go bankrupt. I know that it's not a good thing to do, but I don't see any way out of my house and the housing haven't been too helpful in the situation either, maybe their hands are tied. Negative equity is 35K but I'm liable for 1/4. My earnings at present are £38k pa
