Part of my debt includes the previous years council tax, around £750, which hasn't been chased for months. I'm paying and up to date with this years. Can i include this arrears in my bankruptcy?, if not would i be better to make arrangements to repay it (in installments!) before i present my bankruptcy or after?, thanks again, joe90

Yes - Council Tax debt can be included as a creditor under bankruptcy proceedings.

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com

Hi Joe90,

Melanie is absolutely spot on here. BR will write off all unsecured debts (except student loans) including utility bills and council tax.
