Could you please tell me if I declare bankruptcy and I have a joint bank account with my wife with an overdraft of £5 will my wife be liable for the full £5k or will it be 50/50 and she will only be held liable for £2,500. thank you

Hi and welcome,

Unfortunately your wife will be held responsible for the overdraft as you are jointly and seperately liable for any joint debts.

The world is broken, halos fail to glisten
We try to make a difference but no one wants to listen
Hail the preachers, fake and proud
Their doctrines will be cloud
Then they'll dissipate like snowflakes in an ocean
