We send remittances to our aged and infirm parents who live abroad and no longer work. Is this acceptable in the A & E schedule? And if so what's the limit for such an allowance?

Hi Modensane,

You can list them in the SOA as dependants who don't live with you. How much do you send on a monthly basis?

Regards

Thank you,Julian. The remittance varies between £60 and £80 a month. How will the OR view this.

This will not be allowable expenditure in a bankruptcy, but depending upon the amount the OR allows you to retain you may be able to continue to make these directly.

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com
