Hello all, we went bankrupt in 1 April 2010 and was discharged April 2011. This month we discovered that my husband had the wrong tax code for tax year April 2009- April 2010 so we wrote to HMRC and today we received a letter saying that we did have an overpayment but the prebankruptcy tax overpayment will be paid into the official receiver. Is this right? eventhough we are now discharged and the overpayment was prebankruptcy?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.
