Hi, could anyone tell me the approximate timescales after the interview with the OR. How quickly do they take your things on HP (for example washing machine)and how quickly do you start paying your IPA ? Thanks Shell

Hi,

The OR won't be taking your IP items from you. I doubt the original company will either as it will cost them too much money for little return if they sell them.

Hi Shell,

I declared myself bankrupt on 6th March 2009 and started my IPA 3 months later in June 2009, if that helps. It can take a while for them to arrange an IPA in some cases.

Thank you for your replies. I am trying to work out what is best to do. I know I have to save the 700 for BR and I know I will have to give up our home which may break even in paying off the mortgage and secured loan if I am lucky. I have been advised to stop paying creditors to do this but not sure how long I will be able to keep them at bay while I save enough for a bond and rent in advance. I am wondering if it is best to go BR quickly but don't know how I will save to go in private rented if the 3 year payments start immediately. Sorry to sound a dope.

Hi Shell,

I would get yourself into rented accomodation first. Just ignore creditors, don't answer the phone and put all letters to one side.
