if i declare myself bankrupt, will i also lose my contributions that i have paid into my private pension scheme

yes and NO

depends on type of pension and what the small print says.

sorry cant be specific this needs a call to a full time expert, email a couple of the experts to the left they can then respond and get you to do some research

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Providing your pension is a government approved one you should be ok. I had 3 pensions and I kept all of them and it was never questioned.

I would suggest taking advice to be sure.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 and I'm now looking forward to getting married in September 2012 - I'm proof that you can go BR and come out the other side.

as tracey says it is actually quite straight forward if it is an approved scheme and the payments are reasonable
