I was made bankrupt in March this year. I have just been awarded Attendance Allowance at the higher rate of £73.60 per week. I have written twice to my OR to declare this and have not received a reply.

Do I just leave it - I really don't want them suddenly saying that I own back money/

Hi PdB33

The OR can take money from you by way of an Income Payments Agreement (IPA) if you have disposable income - surplus money left once all your bills and priority debts have been paid. However if your main source of income is state benefit payments, the Official Receiver will not look for an IPA. I would suggest that this money will not be required.

Kind regards
