The Official Receiver has a duty to write to your landlord to inform them of the bankruptcy - purely to establish whether or not there are any rent arrears - there is no need to panic as this would not affect your tenancy in any way.

I am worried about this same issue..with the rental market (in London at least) as it is these days, with landlords only wanting, and being able to demand, a 'perfect' tenant'.
I've only recently moved into my current flat and although I probably won't be chucked out if the OR tells the landlord, I am scared that they won't renew my tenancy when the time comes.. |

Hi there, your concerns, are very common with people considering bankrupcy and residing in rented property. Although I can understand your concerns, I have never known of an individual having to leave their rented property, purely because they have been made bankrupt. Landlords are only concerned that they are getting their rentpaid in full on the required date - provided there are no arrears, a tenant usually has no difficulties
Difficulties with bankruptcy do occur however, when looking for a rented property - with bankruptcy on a persons credit file - it is unlikely they would pass a credit check with a letting agency, and would only be able to obtain a rented property with either a higher bond such a 6 months rent upfront, or a guarantor for the monthly rent
